Signature Handmade Chawan, Crafted by Hand

This piece is part of an original, hand-thrown ceramic series that celebrates the natural vitality of clay and glaze. Each vessel is individually crafted and fired, resulting in subtle variations that make every piece unique.

The surface features a distinctive “Rain Speckle” effect. When the unglazed clay body comes into contact with water, moisture gently penetrates the porous clay and slowly diffuses outward, creating temporary speckled marks reminiscent of rain soaking into a wall. These marks naturally fade as the piece dries, giving the vessel a quiet, living quality. Over time, the effect may soften further; it can also be reduced by boiling the piece in rice water.
